NYARA Honored by NYC Parks
New York, NY - NYARA members Matt Lebow and Chris Ballou were honored at an awards ceremony last night by the Greenbelt Conservancy and The New York City Parks Department. NYARA received recognition for conducting numerous trail cleanups, auto removals and recently using a global satellite positioning device to produce a new trail map for the Greenbelt in Staten Island. NYARA members Keith Duval and Dan Kennedy were also present while conducting the trail survey. Ballou addressed the attendees that included many honored guests such as Senator Marci, Borough President James P. Molinaro, Sen. John J. Marchi, New York City Parks Deputy Commissioner, Staten Island Parks Commissioner and Staten Island Advance Editor Brian Laline. "Adventure Racing is one of the few sports that not only keep the environment in mind, it makes it a priority," said Chris Ballou NYARA's founder.
