Team NYARA places at the 2002 Four Winds USA Supreme Adventure Race
New York, NY - The longest running expedition-level adventure race in the US took place on August 17th from the Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah. Teams from all over the US and outside (Canada and Scotland) competed on this gruelling course with only half of the teams finishing. In the over 350 mile race course, disciplines consisted of hiking over 85 miles, biking over 200 miles, paddling over 60 miles, horseback riding 11 miles and a swim. With elevation gains of forty-some thousand feet and weather variables of blistering heat to freezing nights, Team NYARA managed to stay focused and determined only to prevail as the first place four-person team to cross the finish line in a total time of 8 days, 17 hours (yes, you read it right...EIGHT days!). Team NYARA which was comprised of Rich Raschdorf (VP of NYARA), Elizabeth Smith, Andy Reif, Art Brazee and support person, Paul Turner deserves an enormous congratulations for a job well done. # # # |
