NYARA Races are USARA Qualifiers
New York, NY - NYARA Races Chosen as Regional Qualifiers for 2003 USARA Adventure Race National Championship In a never-ending quest to hook-up adventure racers in our area, the New York Adventure Racing Association (NYARA) is excited to announce that the popular Saddle and Paddle (S&P) and The Longest Day (TLD) adventure races have been chosen as East Regional Qualifiers for the 2003 USARA Adventure Race National Championship. This gives tri-state area racers two opportunities to qualify for the USASA 24-hour championship scheduled to be held in California November 6-8, 2003. Chances to qualify for the USARA Championship begin April 13, 2002 with the Saddle & Paddle 14-hour event in Blue Marsh, PA. June's The Longest Day on the 28th offers great racing in Harriman State Park's New York Highlands and a second chance to qualify. The top three coed teams from the S&P and TLD will be eligible to compete in the National Championship. To further assist these teams in taking their racing to the next level at the National Championships and to spice up the competitive incentive, NYARA will pay $500 of the USARA's registration fee for each team that wins the S&P and TLD. To view NYARA's 2003 race schedule with details of the Saddle & Paddle and The Longest Day go to www.nyara.org and click on NYARA Races and Clinics. For more information on the National Championships and the qualifying procedures (i.e., the fine print), go to http://www.usara.com/natnl.htm. Founded just three years ago, NYARA has become the leading AR club in and around the tri-state area, providing a year long schedule of racing and clinics in the New York area.
