Join NYARA for its 4th annual Urban Bike-O through New York City's parks, streets and hidden gems. Solos or teams of two will travel by bike to various locations throughout New York City in a quest to gather the most points. Maps and clue sheets will be handed out prior to the race and riders will travel to as many destinatons as possible to gather points before the 3 hour cut-off. Whoever reaches the finish line with the most points gathered wins!
This event is perfect for skilled riders as well as beginners that want to have fun while taking a tour of some of New York City's best kept secrets! The ride will end at a local watering hole where we can share our ride stories with food, drinks and laughs! Prizes will be awarded to the top team and top solo rider.
This year's start will be located in northern Manhattan at Highbridge Park. We will begin the race just after the ribbon cutting ceremony where Highbridge will be officially open for mountain biking. This is an historic event as mountain biking has been illegal in NYC parks until now. The following day, the first ever mountain bike race will be held at the same location.
