NYARA April Nav Clinic
Harriman State Park
19 April 2009

 |
Join us once again for our monthly navigation training. Nothing fancy, just you and your compass and a bunch of Control Points (CPs) for all experience levels. This is a training session to get a little practice, and for those of you looking to break into adventure racing this is great practical experience!
The CPs will be evenly dispersed from easy to medium difficulty to more difficult – expect a course with 10 or so CPs and approximately 6-7 miles in distance for those looking to clear the whole enchilada. You will be allowed approximately 2 hours to complete the course - maybe some of you will be lucky (or skilled?) enough to complete this mission.
Maps will be distributed approx 10:45 with the gun going off at 11:00. Participants will be provided a standard USGS topo map with trails shown. Novices, first timers and people looking to gain a little practical nav knowledge, we will have (so called) experts there to take you out on the course. So no excuses get out there and go have some fun.
The clinic will be instructed by James Kerlin of Team NYARA.
